ITS OVER FOLKS

Well, at least I have two more days of school left at MCAD. Very weird. Very exciting. Very other things. I have to say that its been a really fun ride. Looking back at my first comic strip and the two newest ones, it's indescribable how far I've come. School really works! SO. I'd say its time that I put up some comic work from this last semester. Sounds good to me. Enjoy.

New STUFF (and stuff)

I'm working on new styles. This is to show to a potential employer, but I also think that doing this will help with my understanding of my own work, which, at this point I have little of. I mean, lets be honest here. So, this is supposed to be a more "commercial" style that is inspired by animation. This is a cropped version, maybe I'll post the un-cropped too. Yes, that is a very evil little man.

Ryan Kelly Internship

Ahem.

I've been interning with the one and only Ryan Kelly as of late. I can't even tell you (in a way thats not possibly really boring) HOW MUCH I'VE LEARNED! SERIOUSLY!
He is an amazing artist, truly talented and extremely hard working and its quite a miracle that possibly 2 of the busiest people in the Twin Cities can get together as often as we've been managing.

So, without further ado: I've added pics of a New York Five cover and a few pages, this is the comic that we are working on right now. This is written by Brian Wood and Ryan does the art. I've been helping with filling black, ruling panels, and a bit of the dot pattern toning.
Then Batman pages that I got to work on (yeah, for real)... This story was written by Paul Tobin, Ryan Kelly did the art and Trish Mulvihill did the color. I did black spotting and panel ruling and a tad, tiny little bit of the line work (fun).
And after all of that, in previous posts is all of my student work....yeah, I'm gonna go cry now.

Happy Birthday Toots

She doesn't know it yet, but I inked an older drawing that I did of Amanda for Comic Scenes and I'm giving it to her for her birthday (which is today). I'm trying more brushyness on this one.
Oh yeah, click on the image once to zoom and then click again to zoom more. Just makin' sure...

Seeing is Believings

Comic Storytelling Final. These are just the pencils, inks are soon to come ya'll. I'm working on inking a few specific pages for my portfolio. I had a blast making this, hope you have as much fun reading...

Black Bottle

This here is my final for Media and Concepts. Here I played with page design, flow, and storyline. Speaking of story, it's nuts. Enjoy.

Editorial Page

This is a page strip like what would be in a full newspaper spread. Feel the adventure!

The name of the blog says it all...

Hey folks in Comic Story class (and others). So, yes, I am slowly being forced to accept the fact that, I'm going to have to get with it in the technology world and get a blog.
No no no, I don't consider this a bad thing. I am no longer kicking and screaming and the temper tantrum is over. I've come to accept it and I WILL enjoy it, I promise. I've already taken Digital Illustration, I can handle anything.
Its just funny that I can say anything and its possible that the whole world can see it as well as possibly be affected by what I say, so........
Bagel.
You're welcome world. Go have a bagel.
